Jeanne Grunert

President, Owner of Seven Oaks Consulting
Writer, editor, and direct & online marketing expert

"She cares as much about the people as the work." Mike Marsh, President, K & M Diversified

After a successful 22 year career as a marketing executive and writer, Jeanne Grunert opened Seven Oaks Consulting to bring her unique method of marketing to the world.  Jeanne Grunert is both an award-winning freelance writer and an online marketing expert, combining the best of both worlds to create robust marketing strategies and content for her clients.

Lots of consultants never even tell you where they worked! They just give themselves silly titles, like "queen of blah blah" or "guru of this or that."  Jeanne's real. Down to earth.  No fancy titles. Just skill, creativity, warmth and work.  For Jeanne's full resume, click here.

Extensive Real World Business Experience
As a direct and online marketer, Jeanne worked at both for profit and not for profit companies, an Ivy League University and a major publisher before moving to her 17 acre organic farm in Virginia and opening Seven Oaks.  She also founded EquinArt Creations, a company devoted to selling model horses and equine art and promoting the works of equine artists worldwide. Today, Jeanne and her husband John co-own and run EquinArt.

Writing Career
Jeanne began her writing career at the age of 13 when she won the Brockport Science Fiction writing contest and studied writing with Nebula Award winners Stephen Donaldson and Nancy Kress. By age 19, she'd published horror/fantasy short stories and magazine articles. She worked her way through college, paying her tuition and books off by working evenings as a copywriter and weekends grooming and training horses. She published many freelance magazine articles and later, focused on search engine optimized articles for the web.

Today Jeanne Grunert is senior writer and site editor at LoveToKnow.com, one of the top 10 websites for women on the Internet, a staff writer for RawPeople.com, and organic gardening columnist, blogger for several companies, and the author of four nonfiction books.

Her search engine optimized writing is in high demand by companies and marketing agencies worldwide.

Jeanne Sees Opportunities Others Miss
She took 17 acres of timber farm and transformed it into a lush orchard, flower garden, and vegetable garden. Where others see a failing business, Jeanne sees opportunities for growth and reinvention. Throughout her career, Jeanne was brought into companies to turn around products, reinvigorate moribund departments, and instill new and creative ways of thinking into companies.

With her background in writing, corporate communications, direct mail and online marketing, a creative and can-do spirit, and a warm, cooperative personality, her advice is sought by companies worldwide seeking to turn around their marketing programs and launch new products.

Academic Credentials and Awards
She holds a Master of Science in Direct and Online Marketing, awarded with distinction from New York University, and a Master of Arts in Writing from Queens College. She also holds certification in Adult Education and Retail Management. Awards include the Lester Wunderman Award for Direct Marketing Excellence, the New York University Award of Excellence in Marketing, and three American Graphic Design Awards.

"I appreciate who she is and her integrity. I highly recommend her work."

Personal Life - Bits and Pieces
Jeanne is married to John and the two partner on various business ventures, including EquinArt Creations, a company dedicated to selling equine art on behalf of artists worldwide. The two also enjoy their hobby farm, Seven Oaks.  You can follow their antics and life at the farm, Seven Oaks, on her personal blog.

When she's not writing, teaching or consulting, Jeanne finds solace in nature. She's a passionate gardener, hiker and nature lover. The Grunerts grow fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers on their organic hobby farm, Seven Oaks. The photos at left is from the flower garden and at right, the woods at Seven Oaks.

She's an ardent hiker, raw food proponent, spiritual seeker, and a really awful amateur musician.

The rest of the Grunert family consists of Pierre, the junkyard cat  with the fancy name (who is something of a local celebrity, having had his photograph in the local newspaper) and Shadow, a neurotic rescued German Shepherd. Below is Pierre, hard "at work" in the offices of Seven Oaks atop his afternoon perch - the printer.

The Seven Oaks Motto: "Life is good. Choose to be happy!"
